CASTOR OIL

Castor oil is the cold-pressed oil from the beans of the Castor plant, Ricinus communis.

HEALTH BENEFITS

I took an interest in Castor Oil because of it’s analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-bacterial properties. These properties come from the fatty acid, Ricinoleic Acid, that comprises the bulk of the oil.

HOW I USE CASTOR OIL

As a woman with Multiple Sclerosis (MS),I use Castor Oil to help manage my MS. When I discovered that inflammation causes MS relapses, with relapses being the worsening of current or creation of new MS symptoms, I incorporated Castor Oil into my medical care to do the following:

  • Use It’s anti-inflammatory properties to help manage inflammation.
  • Use It’s antioxidant properties to protect the cells of the body from oxidative stress, which is linked to disease, a major source of inflammation.
  • Use It’s anti-bacterial properties to help fight infection, another major sources of inflammation.
  • Use It’s analgesic properties to treat pain.

So, Castor Oil helps manage inflammation, sources of inflammation, and pain.

And managing inflammation, helps manage my MS.

HAS CASTOR OIL HELPED ME?

Yes. Castor Oil has helped me manage my Hidradenitis Suppurativa.

I have not witnessed or identified any other benefits, but i look forward to seeing what the future brings.

CAUTION

Castor Oil can stain fabrics, so I’m careful when I’m handling it.

Due to the ever possible occurrence of product contamination, I always double check my sources and check ingredient lists before trying a new item.

Castor Oil can also aggravate and spread a family of viruses, known as the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. These viruses can infect the skin with several different types of skin growths (ie. skin tags, warts…etc.) If these growths are touched by Castor Oil, the viruses within can become active and accidently spread to other areas of the body via infected oil, where new growths can take root. When I apply the oil to my skin, I’m careful about where I apply it and what I touch. I also make sure to wash my hands afterwards.

Allergic reactions can happen to anyone, so I do my research and keep my eyes open to any potentially dangerous reactions, especially drug interactions, when I try anything new.

Like everything else, I use Castor Oil in moderation.
