ABOUT ME

When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), I was stunned. When I was told that no one knows why MS occurs and that there is no cure, I was scared. When my doctors refused to listen to me, when I told them that the prescribed MS treatments were making my health worse, I chose to fight.

The battle wasn’t without its costs, however, as my life was turned upside down. I became a woman with disabilities and eventually a power chair user. But I also made some important discoveries.

  • I discovered that inflammation can cause MS relapses, which helped me figure out how to manage my MS, by managing inflammation, and even stop its progression.
  • I discovered how the prescribed MS treatments made my health worse.
  • I discovered my strength as a problem solver, as I found solutions for the problems had to deal with as a woman with MS, a woman with disabilities, and a power chair user.
  • I discovered that some of my solutions not only helped me with my MS, but also helped improve my overall health in some amazing ways.
  • I discovered my inner strength, adaptability, and resilience as I faced abuse, discrimination, and accessibility issues, as a woman with disabilities and power chair user.
  • I discovered that being a woman with disabilities is not ‘unfortunate’, just different. And despite being a woman with disabilities, I’m still capable of making a difference in the world.
  • I discovered that giving up is not an option and as long as I don’t give up, and keep fighting, I can have a life that works. Didn’t come quickly or easily, but it did happen.

In a nutshell, MS became a catalyst for transformative change in my life. I live a life now so different from where I started. I now have more love, happiness, and fulfillment than I ever imagined. I love my life. I also found my purpose and that is to be of service and help others.

I share my experiences, the problems I’ve faced, and solutions I’ve found, here in the hopes of helping others.

Cheers.
